ORGANIZATION  BEHAVIOR

DEFINITION:

Organization behavior is the study of the behavior, understanding or influencing of an individual in an organization.it  is the simple study of the way that how people interact with each other within the organization so that it can help in the success of the organization itself

It is the study that how we can apply a psychological effect and the experience of an individual for the betterment of the organization.

Organization behavior

Organization behavior is the study of a positive approach, a study which helps to develop a good relationship between the organization and his employees working in the organization.

Organization behavior is the study of about how people act within the organization and to their working condition, it is totally a human tool which is used for the human benefit which widely applies to the behavior of the individual in all type of organization.

 

CHARACTERISTICS OF ORGANIZATION BEHAVIOUR:

BEHAVIORAL APPROACH TOWARDS MANAGEMENT:

Management should make the workers feel that they are the real asset to the organization if the employees of the organization are satisfied with their working condition their safety aspects this will lead workers positive towards their work and the organization.


CAUSE AND EFFECT RELATIONSHIP:

The managers of the organization can use the positive approach of the workers towards the betterment of the organization. It also helps in predicting the behavior of the individual within the organization.


ORGANIZATION BEHAVIOUR IS THE BRANCH OF SOCIAL SCIENCE:

As we know it is the study of the sociological, psychological and anthropological behavior of the human working within the organization.


THREE LEVEL OF ANALYSIS:

As we know the study put more effect on the behavior of the individual within the organization, behavior of the individual within the group and the behavior of the organization itself and all these levels affect each other.


IT IS THE ART AS WELL AS SCIENCE:

We can say that it is the science because it contains the knowledge of the behavior of people, but we can’t say it exact science because it contains only a partial information of people, we can say it is an art because it contains the knowledge of skill, attitude and behavioral knowledge of the individual.


PROFITABLE TO BOTH INDIVIDUAL AND ORGANIZATION:

It is profitable to the individual because managers seek more safety measures, good working condition and the more satisfaction of the individual which in turn make more and more profit to the organization so it is profitable to the organization as well.


THEORY, RESEARCH, AND APPLICATION:

It is the study of theory, research, and application which help managers to understand and solve the human problem and helps in understanding the behavior of the human in the organization.

 

NATURE OF ORGANIZATION BEHAVIOUR:

As we know it is the study of the behavior of the individual within the organization, when an individual joins an organization he is having his unique personality behavior, experience his unique level of motivation as well as his unique level of failure every organization.

The manager should learn about the individual level of motivation and demotivation so that they can work on both positively and which will automatically result in the profitable result of the organization.

The worker cannot work alone he needs co-worker it helps us to study his behavior when he is working in a group at the time he will be influenced by his new working environment.
new policies, new rules and regulations at the same time he will also contain his past organization experience, on the other hand,

the organization is also affected by the presence and absence of the individual in an organization so the study must make the way that how an individual and organization interact with each other.

Thus we can say that the behavior of the individual and the organization effects each other equally, we cannot have full knowledge of the individual’s behavior without having knowledge of the organization and we cannot know anything about the organization without knowing about the individual working within.

This is because both are influenced by each other people are influenced by organization and organization is influenced by the behavior of the people moreover both are affected  by the external environment .

Thus it focuses on the behavior of the individual working within the organization and the effect on the results.

 

Importance of Organizational Behavior:

 

 

  1. It builds the better relationship by achieving people’s, organizational, and social objectives.
  2. Human resources those are covered are
    behavior,
    training and development,
    change management,
    leadership,
    teams etc.
  3.  brings coordination which is the essence of management.
  4.  improves the goodwill of the organization.
  5.  helps to achieve objectives quickly.
  6. It makes optimum utilization of resources.
  7.  facilitates motivation.
  8.  leads to higher efficiency.
  9.  improves relations in the organization.
  10. It is multidisciplinary, in the sense that applies different techniques, methods, and theories to evaluate the performances.

 

  Limitations of Organizational Behavior:

Behavioral bias:
It further causes dependence
discontentment,
indiscipline,

Law of diminishing returns: even after good positive factors there is the decline in the output after some time

Unethical practices and manipulation of peoplethis knowledge of motivation can be used in a negative manner on subordinates, to manipulate them which decreases the efficiency of the organization.
